BLAUFUSS BIRTH STORY + MY FIRST BIRTH | Sophie Grace Photography
Last Spring I had the crazy idea that I wanted to photograph a birth some day. I find it fascinating and amazing at how a woman's body can change, conform and house such a beautiful miracle. I had mentioned it to my friends that I would like to experience this sometime and pretty soon I was meeting with Alicia!
I knew instantly that Alicia and Jordan would be the perfect parents for my first birth story and that their bundle of joy would be nothing short of an amazing experience as this journey continued.
I can't say enough amazing things about births. I honestly thought it was the greatest thing I've ever experienced. From the maternity photos, to the birth photos, to the newborn photos this journey has been amazing.
Around 1030-11 pm on Dec 8 I got a text from Alicia "shits about to go down!". My heart instantly started pounding. I had my gear ready to go but just had to pack a little overnight bag because you just can't rush a baby! I came up to the hospital and when they were ready I joined them in their room where I began to capture their journey. In the middle of the night Alicia had her epideral and I literally thought I'd pass out watching it, but I made it!! Alicia was in labor throughout the entire night & morning and around noon on saturday morning started pushing. I geared up to capture to special moment and was happily prepared because about 15 minutes after she started pushing little JJ made his apperance!
Emotions flooded the room with happiness. The amount of love and joy that filled the room was overwhelming. I had never experienced such emotions in my 23 years of life. The creation of life is such a beautiful, wonderful thing and I am so blessed to have been able to capture it. It was a good thing I had a big camera in front of my face to hide my ugly cry! Later Alicia & Jordan were joined by family and friends and the day couldn't have been more beautiful. Also the Bison won that day so I'd say it was a win/win in my book.
Welcoming the cutest new member to Breckenridge: Jack James! 12/9/17. He is already so loved by everyone around him.
