How To Choose Your Wedding Photographer

Hi & Hello!

I would first off like to thank all of my 2017 & upcoming 2018 couples that I have already worked with. All of you guys are truly amazing and I can't thank you enough for choosing me to capture your special day!

This is a topic that has come to my attention in the past few months, and not only applies to wedding photography but also any photography in general (families, seniors, etc). HOW does one choose ONE photographer out of hundreds in the area?! Now I am no life coach, and know all.  But these are just a few little tid-bits i've picked up along the way that I think would be beneficial for future couples!

First off you must think to yourself; what kind of style do I like?!

There are so many styles of photographers out there, its amazing.  Theres bright & airy, moody & warm, film style, editorial style and so many more.  What type of photos vibes with your lifestyle? Each photographer spends a HUGE amount of time perfecting their style and learning their trade. Each photographer is proud of their work and takes a massive amount of time learning and perfecting their ways.  The atmosphere of your wedding venue(modern vs rustic vs woodsy) may also help distinguish a style that best suits you.  Based off of this decision alone, you can narrow down your search!

Alright so you have it down to one specific style.  Now what?! Price. Price isn't everything but also is something.  Remember to think to yourself; if you're spending less they probably has less experience.  If you're spending more they probably have been doing this for many years!  Some photographers are just starting out, some are seasoned into this 10 years.  Depending on which style + price point + experience you want to pay for; you will have this limited down to only a few.

Whats next? Getting to know the photographers you are leaning towards.  Shoot them an email, set up a time to meet and get to know them. You will be able to tell right off the bat if you vibe together.  I think this is SO IMPORTANT on your day, you want someone you can feel comfortable around on one of the most important days of your life.  You may need a more assertive photographer for your crazy wedding party, or you may vibe better with someone more laid back and easy going; either way this is something you can only decide!

I think the most important out of these points I've made is style. Do not choose a style that you will regret in the future.  Choose a style that makes your heart sing, choose a photographer that connects with you and enjoy the amazing day you will spend together.

Thanks for taking the time to read this; I hope all of you have an amazing rest of your week!

XOXO
